Title: Pack
Post by: pabassman on June 14, 2015, 04:32:57 PM
Things still happening on the Pack. We got a few bass and 3 stripers. Matt got the best of the night. A nice largie and an 11 pound striper. All on husky jerks.

Maybe one more trip for them next weekend. After it tournament season for us. Sounds like livebait is really starting to do better than lures for walleyes.

going up tonight to give it another try with The-Kid, so hopefully it will be a lucky night

Ya might want to try along Wilsonville and the dike at Tafton with husky jerks. Maybe the cove at the launch too.

Great question.  I was going to ask the same thing.  Have never fished the pack hard or open water.

Wallenpaupack Sports Shop, Route 6, Hawley (570-226-4797): Mark says the smallmouth and largemouth bass at Lake Wallenpaupack are active and being taken with Yamamoto worms and Kai-tech lures and the early morning sunrise bite is on jitterbugs and poppers. Big pickerel are feasting on live bait. Perch action is fair on bottom, Rock bass are going after fathead minnows. Most stripe and walleye action is after midnight on stick baits. Stripers are also in the deep holes of the Lackawaxen, hitting on big shiners or small trout. Trout are hitting decent on flies, but the hot lure for spin fishermen is a small sinking Rapala. Near Honesdale, trout are taking small spinners and red worms. They're making a killing on bass at Long Pond on Yamamoto worms. Upper Woods trout are biting on Rebels or trolled live herring. The Shohola pan fish bite is on, especially bluegills, and there is some largemouth bass action on shiners. At Fairview, trout are going after deep drifting shiners. Also, customers are reporting a large amount of racked deer in velvet in the area.

Be nice if they opened up earlier in the morning so we don't have to get the bait the night before.

That's why I like to catch my own bait. No where around here opens early either.
