Title: Perch in Wallenpaupack
Post by: bent rod on July 17, 2015, 05:33:37 AM
Can anyone tell me where to find the Perch in Wallenpaupack this time of year?  I'm heading up early tomorrow morning with a couple buddies to give it a try.

Caught a few perch and rock bass off of Kipp island (the one with the Eagles nest) last week, nothing spectacular but it can be a starting point for ya. Was using Zoom flukes and Berkley Ripple Shads on the edge of the weeds.

Forgot to mention that it got a little rough to fish in the afternoon with all the boat traffic. Was like a sheet of glass in the morning tho.(http://i1144.PB.com/albums/o496/mailman77/Mobile%20Uploads/20150709_080146.jpg) (http://s1144.PB.com/user/mailman77/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20150709_080146.jpg.html)

Thanks fishfinder.  I never fished around that island.  Just Epply.  I was up a few weeks ago and couldn't find the weed edges.  Are they up near the surface now?  We are going very early and hopefully get done before the boat traffic gets too bad.

Yes. vast majority of the weeds were up to the surface and water clarity was pretty good to see the weed edge also.. Good luck
