Title: NASCAR
Post by: Susky on March 23, 2015, 06:54:01 PM
I just noticed that the Richard Petty driving experience is one of the pages sponsors.  My wife wants to do the driving experience at Daytona for her 30th birthday!   Any other NASCAR fans on here?

Oh she knows they have it at Pocono but she wants to do it at Daytona, she loves that place!  If you are a race fan and have never been to Daytona I would suggest you to put it on your to-do list.  Very impressive.

Actually that is not so. Those ads are served up to the space by Google. Not only that but what you see is based on your browsing history if you looked at some racing experience they know it and will put ads in the space that will interest you. Try it look at something that you might like on cabelas and see if the same product or some similar ads start showing up her for you.

You would probably see some ads that featured Russian/Chinese babes looking for American husbands. Been my experience.

Talladega is definantly on my TO DO list.  My grandfather and I always said we were going to go there but unfortunately never made it.  Planning on making the trip in the next few years with my wife and cousin.  Still trying to decide what track to go to this year.

Growing up my guy was rusty wallace and then when he retired i got out of it because I just can't stand keselowski.  Started watching again a few years ago and my new guy is Austin Dillon.  My pap was a HUGE earnhardt fan so I am carrying on the legacy of rooting for the 3 car.  BTW I'm married to a 48 fan.  :o

I root for "little E", but I like that young Dillon kid. He's the only one of the new kids I like. And you can't help but root for a NASCAR driver that wears a cowboy hat!  ;)  Doesn't hurt that he drives the 3 car either!  ;D

I wish they'd get rid of punks like Tony Stewart and Kyle Bush, though!  ::)

Iv'e been to 3 cup races and about 7 Busch races at the Glen. well,  that's what they used to be called. Suppliers for my company used to do a bus ride out and back from the races. Hospitality  tent for the day. Most of the races we watched from turn 1. They really took care of us for those events. Meet and greets with drivers.  Got to sit and eat lunch before the races with different drivers. Good times. There is a campground outside the raceway where people stay. You guys should take the trip!

Sounds like a good time KP.  I've been to a bunch of races at Pocono when I was younger with my grandfather and got in the garage there.  Also have been to loudon, Dover and Daytona.  Talladega is in my near future.

Terry Labonte used to tear that track up back in the Ol Busch days. Seen him win there a couple of times. Road courses are tough to enjoy really..only get to see the cars go by every few minutes. Turn 1 is cool though...cars come screaming down the grandstand stretch wide open, then all brake and downshift going into a right hander...amazing those engines last with the way the drivers make those engines work to stay on the track....pretty awesome.

Loudon and bristol are the only other races I have been to. Bristol is insane. Saw Terry Labonte and Dale sr. Duke it out on a last lap frenzy wherected they both wrecked on the last lap crossing the finish line.....nuts!

Labonte took the lead from dale Jarrett,  earnhardt was charging fast, caught Labonte and ran through him at the finish line. Labonte won. The next night race....same scenario...earnhardt won. We will have to try to set something up buddy.  I'm hoping that 3 car makes it to victory lane this year.  He had a good run going again last night but either they couldn't keep up with a changing track or got screwed up with the pit cycles.  He's gaining tho,  it'll happen.

Oh she is, but she was sweating after that last caution knowing the 48 was on crap tires!  I had the 48, 5, 19 and 51 in fantasy.  I solid week,  Im saving some drivers for the end,  you only get 9 starts per driver per year.  So there is some strategy to it.

Pocono next week, my least favorite track of them all and its in our back yard, LOL!!

I got a feeling about that 24 car too.  He is always solid at Pocono plus he is running a PSU paint scheme and being I am an Alum of PSU I kind of hope to see him win, only is the 3 car doesn't.   I remember being there when I was younger with my Pap and Jimmy Spencer was leading towards the end of the race and the place was going nuts, he is from Berwick which is only a couple hours from the track. Of course he screwed up and bill Elliot went on to win but it was a good time.  Maybe my boy Austin will get his first career W this week, he had some bad luck yesterday.

I don't watch nascar, but that was A VERY SAD STORY.
What if every time durk out fished me[[[because he has the front of the boat]]]I smashed him in the head with an oar.
that's not fair, after a few hits hed be silly, and my favorite cousin would be no more.
in my eye you cant be a sore looser.the kid should of stayed in his car but,,,he got cocky.it cost the kid his life....
its sad to say but the rules are there for a reason.
I belive he caused his own death, just my opinion.again I am not a nascar fan.
I rather watch HULF HOGAN beat the crap out of THE ROCK.,,, ;)
I hate the ROCK..HULK HOGAN RULES.
CHEIF JAY STRONGBOW,and IVAN PUTSKIE were my favorites.I still have sighned auto graph pics f those guys. They were my HEROS,along with VIRGEL WARD of CHAMPION SHIP FISHING....CASE CLOSE.I DONT GO MUCH ON THIS THREAD BUT<I HAD TO SPEAK MY MIND ::)

So who is going to win a Michigan this week?  Fastest track on the schedule.  I wonder if the reduced horsepower will create closer racing at Michigan.

Chez, KP has got your back bud! Even though you and your bro broke into chuckie cheese to get tokens to play games! Lmao!

Those have been the dominate cars BUT the 48 only has one there and harvick likes 2nd.  I'm thinking the 18 or the 5  :o

I would love to watch Daytona in July on the big screen but I will be flying home from Vegas that night.  Let's check the schedule and set something up.  I know the rest of this month is shot for me and Mrs susky.  We will definitely put something together.  Maybe KP could take a road trip too.

41 car wins!  8) I would've like to see what the 18 car would've had for the field today, but, the wall had other plans!

I think the weather had other plans for everyone today KP.  I really wanted to see it run to the end and see where the Dillon brothers ended up.  They both had good runs going.  Off week next week.

I like watching the young guns, of today, race. That Larson kid holds his own against the rest of the field. I'm a Newman fan....but, I find myself watching that 42 car as well.

KP did you see Dillon got a new crew chief.  Maybe he will make it to victory lane now where the 3 car belongs.

I saw that susky. I thought that crew chief change was coming. He's a good race car driver. Some misfortune for him came from that pit box. I'd like to see that kid get some wins. Got one of the best car owners behind him! ;)

If Dillon wins a night race and your not watching it
on the giant outdoor screen that's gonna suck :o

If Dillon wins the Daytona night race this year and I'm not THERE I'm gonna be flipping mad!!!!  I'm hoping he puts on a good show in Dover when I'm there in October.

WOW! What a finish!  :o  Jr. had a beast of a car tonight(er, this morning) and was on his game covering all the moves. And Dillon had the wildest ride of the night(er, morning!)  ;)  Still can't believe he walked away from that pretty much unscathed!  :o And they said a couple fans only had minor injuries.(thank God!) Seeing the whole front of the car torn off and his motor lying on the infield was unreal!  :o

Glad I stayed up to see the end of the race. Anybody else see it?

Yeah, it's a miracle nobody was seriously hurt. They said there were a few of the spectators that got minor injuries from flying debris. But with the violent nature of that crash, it could have been SO much worse!

Still can't believe Dillon walked away from that crash! I can still picture his engine sitting there burning on the infield grass a couple hundred feet from (what was left of) his car!  :o

I watched the whole race (I got home from a flight from Vegas at midnight and have today off) and that wreck still has me shaking my head.  As most of you know Dillon is my driver and I was skaking after I saw it was the 3 car.  Been to that track in person and can see how things can go real bad real fast. Have been watching racing for over 20 years and that wreck shook me.  Thank god everyone is OK.

Susky- know what you mean. I'm a Dale Jr. fan and I was cheering for him until I saw that car hit the fence! Then when I realized it was the 3 Car, I got a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach, thinking to myself "Oh no, NOT again!" (Earnhardt Sr.)  :'(  Thank God it had a different ending!

since this is an off topic thread. any of you guys watch top gear on bbc america channel.they test drive cars and make some crazy things out of them once in a while and take road trips. they came over to the us and bought three running cars from a scrap yard and drove them to louisiana. when they got to the the state line of alabama they opened an envelope and had to complete a task. they had to get one of them arrested or shot at lol. so they painted slogans on their cars with some kind of paste to draw attention to them. the one had slogans of man love rules, the second one they put banners on it for hillary for president and the third one they put nascar sucks all over it and away they went.they got into alabama and stopped at a gas station to fill up the cars. this lady comes out of the gas station with her son and asked what the hell they were doing and said what the hell is that on your cars.man love and nascar sucks what the hell is a matter with yous. they said they just put the slogans on for fun. she looked at them and said im calling my boys.they started filling their tanks and as they were finishing a pick up truck full of rednecks arrive and they looked at each other and said to them hey its just a joke.well the truck unloaded and they started to hurl rocks at them and the camraman. the cameraman dropped his camera and they got chased around the station and finaly got in their vehichele and took off down the road. they pulled over and got paint thinner or something and wiped the slogans off their cars and high tailed it out of state. my god that was funny. i almost fell out of my chair laughing.it was priceless.
