Post by: ND Perch tugger on May 23, 2016, 10:00:56 PM
Here are some pictures of my co-workers and I from April and May 2016.

We started hitting the Missouri river when the ice came off in April and had some good outings for Walleye.

Then I went to Fort Peck Dam in Montana for some Lake Trout action with the guys once.  The guys went many times and got there limit every time.

Then on the 1st of May the States Paddlefishing season opened.  It was a great time but I was unable to fill my tag befor the season was closed.  Here are pictures of freinds I was fishing with.

Very nice. How and what do the use for the paddlefish?

You use a large heavy duty 10ft - 12ft rod with a heavy duty spinning reel spooled with with at least 30lb line.  On the line you use a 10/0 terrible hook with a 5oz. weight 8 to 18 inches below it no bait as you snag them by throwing your hook line and sinker out into the fast current reeling up slack then pulling in the reeling pulling reeling pulling.  If you hook one you will know very soon.  The fight can be short or long depending on where the fish is hooked. I have seen people fight paddlefish for well over an hour and also seen them land one in just a few minutes. It has been a great spring so far hopping the rest of the year is as good.
