Title: Lehigh River open to year around fishing
Post by: HenryDavid on April 02, 2015, 05:33:13 PM
Did anyone else hear about this?  The new ruling is in place from FEW Dam down to Sandy Run.

APPROVED TROUT WATERS OPEN TO YEAR-ROUND FISHING
"These waters are open to fishing from March 1 to opening day of trout season; however, no trout may be taken or possessed on these waters during this period."

Normally I can't get on most of the Lehigh this time of year because of high water flow.  The release doesn't look too bad right now, we'll have to wait and see because much of the FEW dam is still locked up.

The classification said ''APPROVED TROUT WATERS OPEN TO YEAR-ROUND FISHING"

So you can fish it but not keep trout until opening day, seems to me like they wanted to open it up to smallie fishermen or any other game fish, I'll just say I'm fishing for smallies  ;D

Thanks for the Heads up HD. Your right, pa fishnboat.Com has that section designated as open to year round fishing no harvest. Trout permit required. Nice!!
