1st time at harveys. With some interesting sonar pics..
« on: August 24, 2015, 02:36:45 PM »
Like to start by saying the boat traffic on harveys makes the pack look calm. Only managed 2 pickrel, caught em trolling bout 25 foot down but apprently fished to shallow all day as i caught another fisherman on the way out who said he picked up a nice brown at 30. Heres a few sonar pics im tryin to make sense of, looked like this through half the lake but couldnt pick anything up? Help me clarifly what im lookin at!

Well if the streaks are fish you found the Hotspot and maybe they just weren't  biting haha. I really don't know ,but maybe try different modes or viewing  options , that sometimes helps .

Looks like fish marks to me. May want to turn surface clutter down a touch. Did you try raising your gear up to the upper level of fish? Speed looks good.....that water temp has me thinking the warm water may have played games with the bite. Just my .02😎

The solid line below 20' may be the thermocline. In the 2nd pic the big blob on the right is probably a bait ball.
Lots of fish above the line likely smallies, eyes, perch, even some largies. Below likely trout. I agree about reducing the surface clutter. I have friends that fish it a lot.

A buddy of mine was at Harveys a few days ago and picked up a few nice browns in the early a.m. at about 20-25 feet but by late morning the fish had moved down to about 30+ feet and he couldn't quite  get his gear down deep enough. The fish are there...it's all about the thermo cline

Uhhh i forgot the most important part the solid line is the downrigger weights. Good call on the thermocline but i havnt been able to pick em up latly. Just another reason to justify the 650 im gonna spend on a fish hawk x4  8)

Just curious...what are you using on the business end of your down riggers?

Usually spoons sometimes a small dodger in front of em. Ran shallow cranks off them but the cranks have done way better behind a dipsey. My hottest bait off the riggers have been those mooslok wobbler spoons dont ask me why! Lol
