Catfishing at the Pack
« on: September 07, 2015, 04:11:38 PM »
Anyone (with a boat) interested in taking a trip up to the Pack for night channel cats I have some old info and ideas stashed away and would like to give them a test this month. Send me a PM or reply to this post. A couple teams in a couple boats would be fun too.

Anyone catch the POL show last Sunday?  Pretry good. The guy has a very limited understanding of channel cats from the way he was talking.  I'm still looking to hit it this fall but have a wedding to go to this Saturday so that's out.

I seen the show.was interesting.agree he has limited catfish knowlege it seemed.2 week window to catch catfish.
I belive the cracker was for sent.Galic triscit.
Soak livers in garlic, might do the same thing.I dont belive those cats were in the 20lbs.we csught cats out of the river that big it seemed and they were 12 to 13lbers.
Was an interesting show for a change.Something different.
FM should take them on a spring cat trip on the susky.
That show would be a hit.
Im not just patting FM on the back but,HE KNOWS HIS CATS and FISHING THAT SUSKY.

The guys trolling for walleyes with the crawler rigs have started to pick up some big cats.... a few this weekend close to the 20lb range... Of course.. they are being taken accidentally while trolling for walleyes... so lots of fun... 20 to 25ft plus in depth over wooded structure... Walleye fishing has also been above average for some of the better trollers... with some of them getting double digits catches during the day... Perch fishing has started to pick up a bit... with perch in the 12+ range... but overall the perch fishing this year has been slow.. No big numbers... Big gills has been the ticket... almost all year... The Cali fishing has been pretty good also... No bass updates cause we don't bother fishing for them... but do catch that occasional smallie 18+ on a mealworm... also lots of fun... Enjoy the waters boys and girls and be thankful...   Good fishing and safety to all...

I still think we should give it a shot for the cats . If anyone  is interested  in making a trip . I'd like to hook into a 15+lb cat .

Is there any decent public fishing areas at the pack?

I have a spot in mind that has lots  public fishing space I'd say a few miles . But I'll leave that  info disclosed until I get a group of guys interested in going , but I'm also open to other ideas. If you look at maps there are a few open public fishing area

I stated above brother,i didnt think they were close to 20lb.
