I went for mackerel years ago on a party boat2 different trips.Back in my early 20s.
fished with them with red tubes,3 and 4 on a line.Caught 2 and 3 at once.Llots of fun.
But that's about it.As far as eating them,we tried, baked ,fried,in butter and smoked. They sucked for eating.JMO.Smoked they we not as bad as every way else we tried.Good luck..
MAYBE CATFISH BAIT :-\???

I haven't had mackerel in a lot of years. From what I remember, you gotta keep it cold and my uncle (who ran a charter boat) would always smoke it with a lot of seasoning. Never knew why he always dusted them up good with pepper and seasonings before smoking it. Either way, I didn't eat much of it.
