Blue Marsh

Dusted off the long rods yesterday and tried the stilling basin for the first time ever.  Water was very high and muddy.  No fish but my son caught a seagull.  There was a big flock of them picking up what I assume to be alewives coming out of the dam.  Thought I had a bite on my minnow with slip bobber a couple times but realized that it was gulls picking up my bobber.  Ran into Captain Crappie by chance.  Went up to the lake and was surprised to see that the entire lake was muddy.  Fished around one of the launches and got skunked but it was good to get out on such a beautiful day.  Still hoping for possible ice fishing in upstate NY in a couple weeks but that hope is quickly fading.

I was there yesterday too - LOL . I don't know what the gulls were looking for I didn't see any alewifes either in the water or the gulls beaks. There was something bigger belly up over in the lagoon but I couldn't make out what it was.
The problem with the gene pool is that there is no lifeguard.
