Blue Marsh
« on: March 13, 2016, 07:32:00 AM »
Went over Saturday morning fished till around 3.  I spent most of the time dealing with reel issue's  :'( .  Partner got a nice largemouth(2+lb) and a nicer smallie(4+lb) both on tubes. Talked to a buddy he had 1 smallie(16-18" range) on a jerkbait.

 Lots of guys out... LOL

Nice - I spent the day putting the ice fishing gear away and organizing some gear but hope to get out somewhere this week.  Glad to hear that they are biting at Blue Marsh

Only found 1 largemouth yesterday afternoon, but did find some striper/hybrids that wanted to play.  We caught 2 and lost 3 others, 2 of them were loners but 3 were schooled up

Well my buddy couldn't find anybody else to go with him so he was stuck with me LOL. Got over a little late for my taste 6am but the "others" didn't show up till 10am so the morning wasn't bad . Pretty good topwater bite(very rare over there) I got 2 -1 LG  16" + 1 SM  18". Missed 3 others, 2 that might have been keepers and got a dink on a senko.  My buddy got 1 SM 18" and also 3 dinks(dropshot /sm swimbait).

I caught one     in 1995 in the skuke on a fly rod cost me a 150 beers but its stillon the wall beers are gone, I called the fish comm, they said it came out of blue marsh, at the time I did not know of its legality, turns out it was 27 in long more than legal

A few stripers get washed down from the lake. I've seen a few caught at the Stilling Basin - not enough to make me try looking for them LOL. Not sure how far they can make it up river from Philly - don't know if there are "fish ladders" all the way or not.
