Picture of a "giant" walleye from the pack

Just wondering if any body knows anything about a 37 inch walleye caught and released in the pack.  I don't get local news even though I'm 10 minutes from the lake.

I saw something on channel 16.

from the website-
------

Joe Mican of Waymart caught this 37 inch/15.2 pound Walleye at Lake Wallenpaupack on March 23rd. after snapping a photo, he released the fish.

-----

there wasn't any picture to go with it. I'm pretty sure the world record walleye is 37" and 20#.

Found the pic. That looks like he was at the mouth of 5 mile creek. That's a slammer.

I saw this pic about 2 weeks ago. Didnt have details at the time bit my first thought was its over 13 pounds. It was caught during the full moon. A buddy of mine was there and said the fish commish trap nets were in that area and LOADED with eyes headed up the river and 5 mile.

Kudos to Mr. Mican for releasing it. You guys need to spend time on the ice there. The big ones are vulnerable to a nice big live bait, just after dark.  8)

That's the one I heard about.  If I just seen the pic and not heard the details I would of guessed between 28 an 30 inches and around 10 pounds.    Wish there was something to compare it to for size comparison.

Fish commission tried to fine a guy last year that posted a photo of a nice smallie from the main branch Susquehanna.  He said he photographed it then released and they got all up in arms that he took the photo before releasing the fish.  I had read that the guy got off from the fine.  Maybe they have gotten more relaxed about it since then.

I'm not sure if I would post a pic of a fish that I had caught out of season even if it were a pig.

Is there a catch and release season in PA? Before the regular bass season? They frown on pictures taken during c arch and release season here as well. North from where I live you can't target bass, but, only in the regular season. There isn't a catch and release season there.

If I remember correctly the guy caught this pig smallie on a C&R section of the main branch Susquehanna, the bass population was hurting in that section so they made it release immediately, the guy posted it on facebook and that's how they got to him.
