Lehigh Troutin'
« on: April 23, 2016, 10:01:20 AM »
Manages to get a few hours for the Lehigh Friday. I hit the Devil's Elbow area and the section right below the FEW Dam. Levels were low and very fishable. For HD there was a nice little hatch of some 1/4th inch moth-like bugs coming off the water, no risers were evident. I got two browns on the lower section and two brookies up by the dam. In both cases the fish looked like holdovers or possibly even natural spawned. No hatchery fin wear or clipped fins all in good condition. Had a bald eagle fly by and flushed a timberdoodle walking in. First one of them I have seen in years. I had forgotten all about them, any here ever hunt them? The last pic is a little plant called Arbutis. Very sweet smelling flower. It blooms so early, sometimes under the snow that it needs the scent to attract pollenizers.
