BUBBA,FM and ME hit one of BUBBAS HOTSPOTS for BULLHEADS last nite.
JUST BEFORE GAME TIME,,,FM said,,CHEZ your getting a BITE!!!!
I was a few yds away tring to get some small gills for CATFISH BAIT.
When I set the hook ,,I knew it was BIG.Was a great fight,,,EVEYONE try to help land it when it got to shore all 4 or 5 times ,but they were afraid the line was gunna snap and the 1/2 oz sinker would hit them in the melon.LOL.
Needles to say I landed him.
4lb.line and a 7 foot lite action UGLY STICK..What a fight.
20PLUS pounds....
LOTS of CATFISH BAIT THERE fm,or BUBBA said,,BUT WE RELEASED IT.
IT WAS FULL OF EGGS.
A bit of BLOOD SPILLED when I PULLED the HOOK out of its lower lip.
BAIT was the HEAD OF A CRAWLER.
FUN TIME FOR SURE.... ;)

Nice carp chez.  They might be one of my favorite fish to catch.  Especially big ones.

I think you might get something started chez. The carp tournament guys started going nuts here two-three years ago, there are monsters in the CT River. The Europeans have carp tourneys like we have bass tourneys, for big bucks. In some Euro lakes, the lunkers have names and all tourneys are C&R so many people might catch the same one over a period of years. When the big famous one dies they have a moment of silence or funeral. FOR REAL!  Now the Euros found out about the number and size here it's a mini-invasion. The bait stores all carry gear, there's a ton of chumming stuff and the hook rigs are nuts. Doesn't make sense to me why they get all cranked up about oversized goldfish, but to each his own.

If you think they're around chum them with corn. Toss a whole bunch out and come back a day or two later. Throw our more chum and toss you're rig in the middle of the chum. The carp rigs are a sort of slip sinker arrangement with a special carp hook for old pucker lips. When they pick it up, word is they run like hell.

I know a retired guy that fishes only for carp, he has rigs and bait all specific for the carps, he catches loads of them in lakes and in the Susky.  He also has top of the line rod holders and alarms rigged on his rods.   A 20 carp day is normal for him.   There are tons of carps in local lakes that you might not even think they are there.
