Me and my girl got out on the pack Saturday evening for the first day of the walleye season, and started the season off with 3 nice walleye(24",25",and 26"). We started fishing at 8:30pm trolling with a shadow rap shad and hooked up in the first 5 min. Within the hour we landed the others.  http://rs328.pbsrc.com/albums/l341/Hachimo2/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpsoxl76dnq.jpeg?w=480&h=480&fit=clip

the water temp was 54 degrees. Earlier last week it was around 51 so it's warming up a little bit.

I haven't been seeing any schools of baitfish anywhere on the lake at night.  I'm guessing the water temp gotta have something to do with it.

I went back up again last night and only got one smallie about 18".  No walleyes and the water temp dropped back down to 51 degrees.  Yea Chez Im waiting on the water to get warmer but just way to anxious. I've been fishing the pack for 3 years now and this is the first year I started catching fish. It's a very tough discouraging lake if you don't know how to fish it. Thanks to some older fisherman showing me the how's and when's of the lake this year started off very well.  On March 13 I landed a 42" 30lb striper and now I'm hitting the walleye. [/img]

Look like your doing just fine Brother.
It is a tough lake,not just on Eyes,but everything.lol.
Trial an error, help from my dad and older guys like you stated.
Helped me out a lot.
I still didnt figure it out yet.lol.
We do get fish, but, would like to get more.
Im fishing this lake 40 years now.started icefishing it with my Dad when i was 14,fishing it ever since.
Iceseason back in the day,Everyone, and i mean Everyone, was catching Eyes and Browns on tipups.
It gets addicting. :)
Im hoping to be up there next Friday or Saturday nite.
We will pull an 7pm to 3am shift.
Water should be warmer the way the weather is shaping up.
Good Luck.
Keep those pics Coming.

Great fish. We sure are behind with water temp. 64 degrees is kind of the magic temp. Like Chez said once it starts it will be a party every nite. Fingerling trout go in the 19th ;).
