MOON LAKE
« on: June 26, 2016, 09:48:51 AM »
I took the YAK to SYLVIN YESTERDDAY AFTERNOON,,AROUND 5.30.
Not a parking spot to be had....So I went to try my luck at MOON LAKE,,Ive never fished it before....

Place was packed,,,,,
4 boats out on the water and, lots of people all over the shore..
it was getting late by this time,so in put the yak on..
Shores were chokes with weeds and LILLY PAD...Tuff to fish..
I THREW CHATTERBAITS,FLOATERS,SENKOs,,,Had 1 wack and miss on a floating rapala...
Only fished an hour,,HAD A FAMILY EMERGENCY POP UP..
The bass were in those LILLY PADS BIGTIME....
THEY WERE EXPLOIDING BIGTIME......
ILL BE BACK TO TRY IT AGAIN ,,WITH !@LB LINE AND SOME FROG LURES. ;)
What turned out to be a Joke,The Law Dogs  Dont Understand!!!!

I haven't been there in a month but after the trout opener the place has been packed with people.  In March not many people there at all.   I saw it last summer and the lily pads and weeds were really thick, all that was open water in March.

The top water bite on the Susky has been non existent for me, only the dry flies have been producing on top.

Chez, did you see any insects on the water or fish rising ?

I suppose you would have to sit out on the lake all night and wait for a hot bite, or hit it a couple hours before sunrise.  All you could do in the bright sunlight is work the heavy cover.

Saw a lot of bug action on the lake buddy.
See a big dragon fly get sucked up by a decent fish.
The bass in the pads were feeding Big time..
Some big splashes.
I think a frog or mouse with 12lb line would of produced a few bass.

It's probably like most lakes, you gotta hit it in the middle of the week.
