Proper Oar Length
« on: July 21, 2016, 11:02:19 PM »
Looking to purchase the proper but a comfortable in rowing wooden oar length.

What I have is a 12' semi V rowboat...   the distance from oarlock to oarlock is 50"...........

I'm looking to use the boat on the NY reservoirs, Cannonsville, Pepacton or ????...   These lakes are row only, so rowing is the main necessity but at a casual degree for slow trolling.
Zero to a moderate wind.  Any heavier wind and I'll stay on shore or tuck away in a cove.

Just looking to see if anyone has fished this style and has a preferred preference at their oar length.

Looking at the Crooked Creek wooden oars.

Thanks..
