eel's

My wife just watched a TV show about eel's and a good portion of it was filmed in the Delaware.  Now she wants to go catch one.  Never targeted eel's so I have a few question for you guys.

#1) what time of year should we target them?

#2) what kind of setup is good to catch one?

#3) favorite bait?

#4) general area to try to catch one? (Not asking for your honey hole, just a general area to get started.)

nARROWSBURG,THE BIG D
SAME SET UP YOU WOULD USE FOR BULLHEADS.FISH THE BOTTOM.
WE USE A SLIP SINKER 1/2 OZ ABOVE A SWIVEL,THEN PUT ON A #6 redi tie hook.
when we catch an eel we un hook the redi tie from the swivel with the eel on it and drop it in to a bucket of icethen put on a new redi tie.when we clean the eels we get the redi ties back for the next trip.works good.
NITECRAWLER HALF FOR BAIT,IF YOU USE A LEECH YOU GOT A GOOD CHANCE GETTING INTO AN EYE OR 2 THERE.
ive caught eels as early as the first week of may right up till late October bfishing for eyes .in my opinion most productive time is june,july,and early august.
ive caught them all times of the day.in the dark it seems you get a lot of smaller ones.early evening ive gotten them as round as a lemon.
we use to fish bthe deleware from shore and wadeing in the vZANE GREY area,just up from where the LACAWAXIN dumps into the BIG D. we would fish for bass,if we got snagged we wouldn't brake our line,we would walk it back to shore set it up like bank fishing for cat and in a few minutes an eel would unsnag it for us.
if your gunna touch them,bring an old towel to grabb them with.There a slime machine,lol.
once I had a dozen or so in my livewell.when I got home they were gone.they must of slid out the fill tube on the live well and were landing on 191.lol.

Hes got a back yard fire place nicer than most guys house fireplaces.
Really nice.Many a nites we sat in front of it drinking and listening to hank jr.and david allen coe.

I did hear of someone that went to a coe show recently and they said he's all religious and clean and such.  I just let that go in one ear and out the other.
