How many guys use anchors on their yaks?
I got a yaks towards the end of season last year.I got out 4 or 5 times.luv it.I found i have a definate need for an anchor.
Any ideas or sugestions would be great.
I fish the river on floats dont feel i need an anchor for that.
But like to bass fish out of it on lakes, and would like to try the spring panfish bite in my yak also.

Style
Amount of weight.
Trolly line or not.
Thanks

CHEZ YOU DONT NEED MUCH WEIGHT....I THINK MINE IS A 1 LB. THE TROLLY SYSTEM IS NICE AND YOU CAN GET THE ANCHOR KITS FOR THEM WITH EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR UNDER $70 I THINK. OR GET A WEIGHT AND TIE A PIECE OF ROPE ON IT AND TOSS IT OVER BOARD. I HAVE A SS EYEBOLT I RUN THE ROPE THROUGH AND TIE IT OFF WITH A CLEAT. MY PERSONAL EXPIERIENCE, ESPECIALY ON THE RIVER, IS TO HAVE THE ROPE WITHIN ARMS REACH FOR RETRIEVAL!! YOU MAY NEED TO YANK ON IT SOMETIMES ;) ALSO CARRY A KNIFE JUST IN CASE ;D

I picked up a folding grapnel anchor from Dicks over the winter. It was about ten bucks and wieghs a pound and a half. I plan on doin what Kcarp said and use an eyebolt and  cleat.

Thanks guys,i think if theres no fishing next weekend,im going to put that trolly system on and get my anchor.Gotta be ready.
Durk,i wish I could use that guy for target practice, never mind an anchor.
I think im gunna have to ship him down to FOUSTY.He,ll have him tamed in 1 day,or have him skinned in the basement.
