Don't forget, you need to wear life jackets in boats, canoes, kayaks under 16 feet while moving or anchored until April 30th a guy got busted for not wearing one Saturday were I was.
What's your thoughts on this law?

every year around this time we start seeing a parade of news articles about guys being pulled out of the river. One thing you hardly ever see is a drowned guy wearing a life vest. I would like to invest in a yak this year but I will be wearing a vest at all times, not just when they say I have to wear one. My family needs me dry and breathing.jmho

Durk's right, I don't care how macho you are that cold water will zap your strength before you ever swim very far. Heck a guy in my shape should wear a PFD when taking a shower!! Apparently a lot of people have not got the word because yesterday I saw more people in boats without them on then with!

Right now water up here is right around 35 so one would not last Very long , but I feel , there should be no cut off on the size of a boat ,

always a good idea. if your boat is in an accident on the water and you get ejected and hit the water it could make all the difference.and now they have the auto inflate ones that are super thin so theres no excuse.

[ I used to rarely wear a life vest on my kayak but now that I have two little ones I always wear it even in the summer. Hate the thought of them growing up without me cuz I was irresponsible.
